Greetings Stallions, As the new principal of South Columbus High School, I am thrilled to welcome you back for the 2024-25 school year. This year promises to be filled with excitement, opportunities, and a renewed sense of school pride. Together, we will strive to excel in academics, athletics, and extracurricular activities, fostering a supportive and dynamic community.
Our mascot, the Stallion, is admired for its strength, stamina, and the fantastic potential for excelling in competitions. This year, let’s embody these qualities in everything we do. Whether in the classroom, on the sports field, on stage, or in our community and beyond, let’s demonstrate the pride and perseverance of a true Stallion.
The start of a new school year is always filled with endless possibilities. It’s a chance for students to sharpen their academic skills, join clubs, be part of organizations, and shine on athletic teams. We have high expectations for our students, and we are committed to helping each of you reach your full potential. Remember the words of Nelson Mandela: "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world". Let’s harness the power of education to transform our futures.
This year, we’re kicking off a new era at South Columbus High School. We’re calling it “Back in Black” to signify a fresh start and a unified spirit. On the first day of school, Monday, August 26, I encourage all students, faculty, and staff to wear black attire. This simple act will show our collective commitment to starting the year strong and setting a powerful tone for the months ahead. Our black attire will symbolize the strength and unity of our Stallion community as we embrace new challenges and celebrate our achievements.
Our administration, faculty, and staff are excited to welcome you back. We aim to be the premier high school in the district, and we are confident that great things will happen this year. We’re committed to excellence in all areas, and we’re here to support you every step of the way. I am excited to embark on this new journey and I can't wait to greet you at the door. As Dorothy said, “There’s no place like home…” Let our school be a place where all who enter quickly recognize Stallion students live here!
Here’s to an incredible year ahead!
