Each fire department within Columbus County has been supplied with an allotment of these smoke detectors for installation in homes across their respective districts.
We encourage all families throughout the county to take advantage of this free smoke detector check and installation program. This initiative ensures that every home has properly functioning and up-to-date smoke detectors. If any detectors are found to be outdated, missing, or not working, new ones will be installed free of charge.

Monday, October 13, is a Teacher Conference Day for all schools.
There will be no school for students on this day (CCCA will operate on a regular schedule).
Teachers will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for in-person or virtual conferences.

Here are some West Columbus High School reminders for this week. Thank you to all members of the WCHS school community for a positive start to the school year. Students and parents are reminded that students are only permitted to check out of school and return to school for documented medical appointments, court appointments, or school related activities. We ask that you assist us in ensuring students maximize all instructional time each day.
On Monday, our Men's Soccer team opens their season with an away match at Union High School, with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 pm. On Tuesday, our Volleyball teams travel to Hobbton High School for a conference match, with JV action beginning at 4:30 pm. On Wednesday, our Men's Soccer team plays its home opening match versus Lakewood High School, with kickoff scheduled for 5:00 pm. On Thursday, our Volleyball teams host conference matches versus North Duplin, with JV action beginning at 4:30 pm. On Friday, our Varsity Football team is scheduled to host Sandhills, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 pm. Here are some reminders for this week for West Columbus High School. We ask that our parents help us stress to our students to refrain from tampering with their phone pouches. Several students have damaged their pouches while attempting to open them during the school day. Please be reminded that the damage / replacement fee for each pouch is fifty dollars.
