Thank you to everyone who purchased doughnuts to support our Beta Club and school! The doughnuts were delicious and fresh!
1. Parents are invited to attend our Christmas event on Thursday, December 19th at 1:00 PM in the gym! We have a school art exhibit that will be displayed all through the building with our student’s artwork, Pre-K classes will be singing, and we will have the East Columbus Jr/Sr Band playing a concert full of Christmas Music!
2. Our Beta Club will be selling Santa Candygrams daily during lunch times! Santa Gams will be delivered daily to students in the afternoons! The cost of each candygram is $1.00! Be sure to buy your candygrams during your lunch time for friends, family, and even your teacher!
3. On Friday, December 20th school will release at 1:00 PM for the holiday break! We ask that you please arrange transportation for your students on this day to accommodate the early release time! Also, students may wear pajamas this day as we will be having holiday activities and even some movies to view such as Polar Express.
4. CCS will be closed for students for the winter/holiday break from December 23rd through January 3rd. Teachers and staff will have an optional workday on January 3rd.
5. Parents of Pre-K and Kindergarten students are reminded that an adult must be present at pick-up and drop of at all bus stops.
6. Transportation Changes must be in written form and must be completed by 2:00 PM daily. We do not accept phone calls or text message transportation change requests.

We hope that all our students and their families had a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving Break!
1. ADES is holding a school wide fundraiser December 2nd through December 6th. We are selling Krispy Kreme Doughnuts for $15 a dozen. This is a pre-order fundraiser. The students will be given an order form and will be responsible for collecting the money and turning it in. All the money and order forms will be collected on the same day, Friday, December 6. We are having this fundraiser to raise money for our Beta Club to attend the conference in Greensboro, NC early next year as well as provide instructional support materials for students at ADES. The student who sells the most will have an opportunity win a Flip and Fly gift card. The class that collectively sells the most will win a pizza party or party of their choice! We would love to see all our students participate in this fundraiser and sell at least 1-2 dozen doughnuts each to benefit the students of BETA Club and ADES.
2. All 5th Grade students will be taking the NC Check-In for Science on Tuesday, December 3rd. We ask that all students arrive to school on time so that we may begin testing promptly at 8:00 AM. Students are encouraged to get a full 8 hours of sleep the night before testing and to eat a healthy breakfast.

1. Parents, ADES is on the prowl to achieve a 95% attendance rate weekly for the 2024-2025 school year! For the week of 11/11/ 2024 the following grade levels had high attendance rates:
a. 3rd place is 1st grade with a 92.93% attendance rate
b. 2nd place is 5th grade with a 93.61% attendance rate
c. 1st place is 6th grade with a 94.11% attendance rate

A great day at ECJSHS as Columbus County Schools hosts a First Lego League Competition. Teams from TCS and ADES are the first teams to compete from CCS.

These assessments will occur on Tuesday, November 5th for ELA and Wednesday, November 6th for Math. 1. Parents and Students: We will continue our Red Ribbon week on Monday, October 28th. The Schedule will be as follows:

b. October 29th – Wear all Black – Black out Drugs and Bullying
c. October 30th – Teams Day - Team Up Against Drugs – Wear your favorite sports team apparel
d. October 31st – “Drugs are Scary” Students may wear a school appropriate Halloween Costume. (Contest for Students and Staff) Please no masks that cover the face!
2. Friday, November 1st we will have our first 9 weeks PBIS Incentive Reward which will be a popcorn social for all students who have had no office referrals and no more than two minor incidents.

4. All student cellphones will be collected at the beginning of the day by classroom teachers and returned to students at the end of the day every school day.
